Handy backup software for windows
It is a simple backup tool for every computer both for personal use and for a part of
workplace network. Product is useful for creating Zip backups of files,
located on personal computers, file servers or ftp sites.
This software is consists of two independent utilities - the
backup manager and the command-line backup utility.
Backup manager is intended for three basic purposes:
- creation the `BACKUP SET FILE`; making backups; data restoring.
BACKUP SET FILE contains all options to create backup and is used as
a backup profile for regular backing up by the backup manager or command-line utility.
It is a simple text file which can be easily viewed, printed, copied etc. You can create as
many such files as you need.
Exists opportunity to choose the best kind of backup, depending on
dynamic properties and size of the processable data.
Four backup strategies are available in this software.
For static or low-dynamic data full or incremental backup is recommended.
Another backup kinds - stack or advanced stack,
will be useful for high-dynamic data.
You can flexibly create an exact set of files, which need to be archived.
For this purpose, included and excluded files are specified separately.
You can include data from personal workplace, network resources or ftp sites.
Wildcards (* ?) are allowed in all paths specifications.
There is no problem to organize regular backing up
by using d_back command-line utility.
This utility is intended for independent creation of backups in command line mode
and oriented on
joint use with windows task schedulers. It completely carries out all functions of the
backup manager for data processing. Simply start d_back and pass a
BACKUP SET FILE as parameter to it. It`s enough for backup creation - no more!
You can completely check the results of data processing.
The history of startings and all errors or warning messages are saved to a log file.
In addition exists possibility to notify user by e-mail about starting/ending each backup
job.
